CD/DVD PLAYRIGHT the COMPANY

Not many know the story behind CD/DVD PLAYRIGHT, so we thought it would be a good
idea to let you know that CD/DVD PLAYRIGHT, though only a little over a year old as a US Operation, has many miles of successful operations to its credit in the all Important European Market.

Founded in Ludwigsburg, Germany as CD Reparatur Service, sold under many brands including Herlitz, Hama & AV HI Tech, our founder, Mr. Harald Schmid, has sold Repair Kits in the European market for ten years. That effort began immediately after his patents for repairing compact discs were issued in Europe and subsequently the US (see patent below). Sales have continued to rise and are approaching one million units.

When Mr. Schmid decided to reenter the US market, after a one year agreement with MEMOREX was shelved due to the sale of that company, a US operations team was assembled in April, 1988. Since that time, we have developed many new products to compliment our patented Repair Kits. CD/DVD Quick ShieldTM is a "market first"-- it actually reduces errors by laying a protective barrier on the disk. This barrier inhibits dirt, oil and scratches from accumulating on the disk.

CD PLAYRIGHT has developed a complete line of after market accessories for the optical disk owner. Those products include the patented Repair Kit, and just released DVD Repair Kit, CD/DVD Quick Shield with Cleaner, a product with a proprietary formulation to fight the effects of routine CD or DVD handling and use.

After Market CD, DVD, Optical Disk, CD Rom Applications

Optical Disk Repair:

Knowing how to assess the repairability of your disk is a simple three step process;

  1. Hold the scratched disk up to a light, if any light shows through, that disk area cannot be repaired.
  2. A scratch that does not pass any light, can be resurfaced through a process of applying CD PLAYRIGHTTM engineered polished or abrasive or specifically designed sanding papers in our ProKit.
  3. Some disks which are not scratched can be restored with routine cleaning using CD PLAYRIGHT's Quick Shield & Cleaner: just spray on and wipe off with non-abrasive cloth.

Patented CD REPAIR KIT ... Models or ProKit
Each kit contains carefully crafted formulas which allow owners of optical disks to remove by resurfacing: scratches, abrasions, dirt and oils from the surface of their Audio, Computer, Laser disks or any other format of optical disk.

The three step process assures the user that even deep scratches can be removed by simply and carefully following the instructions in the manual.

Repair by resurfacing is the method our patent describes. This method allows the scratch edges which are deflecting the lasers return path to be smoothed out, allowing the laser to reach the data and return with the proper information.

CD Maintenance:

Every CD gets dirty over time; even the most carefully handled is affected by dust and oil from the handler's skin.

CD PLAYRIGHT recommends that any CD should only be cleaned with a wet process. We never recommend cleaning with just a dry cloth, because often the cloth contains fibers which can increase scratches on the disk's surface.

CD & DVD QUICK SHIELD & CLEANER. These formulations are guaranteed to help maintain your optical disks in working order.

Quick Shield & Cleaner's proprietary formulation removes dirt, skin oils, and most other stains while it places a thin protective layer on the disk's surface. This protective layer repels dust, dirt, and oil while acting as an anti-static agent to attract particles in the environment to the disk's surface.

CD QUICK WIPES
Our Quick Wipes assure a fast and effective way to clean a disk before placing the disk in the player or back into its jewel case. Because Quick Wipes are wet, they will not cause the disk any problem. Quick Wipes are alcohol based, so the wet solution
evaporates quickly.

Organization:

In our value packs we provide a handy CD Bridge, which holds up to 20 CDs. This method saves time, allows the user to quickly identify the CD by simply flipping through the CDs using their own graphics to help you choose which CD you want to play. Racks and towers which only show the Jewel case title spine where the printing may be so small as to make it unreadable. Bridges are the best way to Organize your favorites, while vertical racks are best for large collections.

Protection/Storage:

CD PLAYRIGHT provides two additional Jewel cases in every value pack. Jewel cases help protect the CD when not in use. Many CD Roms come in envelopes, so a good supply of extra cases is always helpful. CD PLAYRIGHT recommends always using a Jewel case for storage when your CD is not in use.
